Prof. Dr. N. Yasemin YALIM was born in 1963 in
Ankara. She graduated from TED Ankara College in 1981,
and from the Faculty of Medicine of Ankara University
in 1987. In 1990 she started an educational program
in the Department of Deontology & History of Medicine
within the Graduate School of Health Sciences of the
Faculty of Medicine of Ankara University, and received
a Ph.D. in 1994. She was appointed to a faculty position
in 1995 within the department. She completed a post-doctoral
educational program in 2002 at University of Minnesota
Center for Bioethics. She was appointed an associate
professor in 1998 and promoted to professor in 2004.
She is the president of the Bioethics Division of Turkish Institute of Philosophy
and a founding member of Turkish Society of Bioethics. She is the chairperson
of Ankara University Board of Ethics and Faculty of Medicine Drug Research Board
of Ethics member.
She has a daughter.
